Investing in homes – old and new
Improving homes at Grove and Tower Court
We’ve recently finished work to refurbish the buildings at Grove and Tower Court in Peterborough. They’ve been updated with a modern look and we’ve taken care of some ongoing issues with thermal insulation.
We invested £3.7 million to install new pitched roofs, energy efficient cladding and insulation, and replacement windows and lighting. All of these changes have improved the efficiency rating of the homes, which will help to reduce energy bills for residents.
We also provided new bicycle stores and landscaped the grounds in a way designed to reduce anti-social behaviour. On top of that, we’ve tackled issues with non-resident parking by creating a secure, gated car park – which should make things much quieter on match days!
We’re powering ahead with several large new developments in the city too. The first homes at our 104 home site on Newark Road are now open to applications for shared ownership.
You can find out more at Shared Ownership. Plus, we’re on track to complete all 81 of the homes at our development in Dogsthorpe by the end of the financial year.
This month, we’ve also taken handover of our first new homes in the Fenland District since 2017. These affordable rented homes in Whittlesey are helping to address the shortfall of affordable homes in the area and we’re working with Fenland District Council to identify other sites where we can help increase supply.
A summer of site progress
We’re gearing up for a busy summer. In July, we’ll be celebrating the completion of 22 new homes in Willingham, South Cambridgeshire, while throughout August we’ll be welcoming people into their new homes in Milton Keynes, Bedford and Huntingdonshire too.
