It’s good to talk

We all need to reach out and have a good chat sometimes. Talking is great therapy, and meeting new people and making connections in your community is vital.

But it can be hard to take the leap and get out there to start the conversation. Well, we have the solution for you! Our three new groups will give you the chance to meet new people and make new friends. All the groups will meet at 3 Scalford Drive.

The first group is ideal if you are feeling a bit isolated. Maybe the children are back at school and you are at a loose end, or you have just moved to the area and would like to meet new people. Whatever your reason pop along to the Hub on every second Thursday of the month (starting 10 October) 1pm to 2pm.

Our second group is specifically for people over the age of 50 who are looking for people with similar interests for a chat over a cuppa. This group will run on the first Thursday of the month (starting 3 October) 1pm – 2pm.

The third group is for anyone who has been having mental health problems. You can meet up and share your experiences in a supportive environment. This group will meet from 1-2 pm on every third Friday in the month (starting 20 September).

Remember, if you need counselling or one to one support, Insight Healthcare run sessions at our Health and Wellbeing Hub in Welland. You can get free access to a mental health support, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). You can refer yourself, or be referred by a healthcare professional, and waiting times can be much shorter than getting help through your GP.
